Remove the existing covers from your chair outdoor cushions. Measure the pieces of fabric that make up the existing cover. Add 1 inch to each measurement you have recorded. This creates a 1/2 inch seam allowance. Transfer the measurements of each piece of fabric, including the seam margins to the back of the new fabric with a ruler and a cloth pencil. Cut the new pieces of fabric with scissors. Fit the new cushion covers.

Fold the lower of the raw edges of the fabric 1/2 inches on the side that is open. Press to crease these seams. And then create loop closures. Sew the pressed edges in place of 1/4-inch edge, catching the loops on the seam lines on both sides to secure them in place. Sew over the loops several times to ensure a strong bond. Do not sew the opening closed; this is where the cushion is going to be inserted. Insert your outdoor chair cushions into your new covers and tie them closed.
